3rd Petrobras Regulatory Framework Seminar
Presentation on the concept, architectures, and applications of Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN), as defined and characterized by the 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project, the global consortium that creates technical specifications and standards for all mobile network technologies).
The concepts of “New Space” and “New Ground” are addressed, characterized by facilitating access to space and ensuring connectivity with multi-orbit space systems, respectively.
The only medium Earth orbit (MEO) satellite constellation is characterized, along with examples of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellations.
Expanding the concept of Non-Terrestrial Networks, aerial platforms that are heavier-than-air (airplanes) and lighter-than-air (balloons), both high and low altitude, are presented.
The work concludes by exploring the future, which is characterized by the integration of the aforementioned networks.
